A little boy with hair so long he is often mistaken for a girl is getting his 'rocker locks' cut - for the first time in seven years.
Orlando Paludetto, aged eight, had planned on growing his hair until he was 18 years old.
He has been growing his hair since the age of one, and doesn't mind when people mistake him for a girl.
But after his mum, Luciana, 45, donated some of her hair to charity the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who have lost their hair due to illness, he decided to get it chopped.
Orlando, from Ayr, South Ayrshire, has not yet got a date for when he will go to the salon and get it shaved off but is hoping to raise £3,000.
So far he has raised £1,600 for charity Whiteleys Retreat, Alloway, Ayrshire, which provides respite care for families with ill children.
Orlando said: "It's been about seven years since I've had a proper haircut.
"I just decided to grow my hair, I like the rocker look.
"I haven't chosen a hairdresser yet, but I know for sure I'm going to a hairdresser, just in case my mum cuts it a bit too short.
"I'm scared a bit of getting it cut since it's been so long, but I'm proud and excited.

"I'm feeling lots of emotions every day.
"All my school is really proud, they pulled me out of class the other day for a picture for Twitter.
"I was inspired by one of my friends and my mum as they both donated their hair to charity.
"So far I've been going door to door asking for donations, and we have raised £1,517.
"The money is for the Whiteleys Retreat, they do retreats for kids that have been in hospital for a long time, it's an amazing place."
Luciana, who is a professional dog walker, said she is 'emotional' about the gesture - and believes her son wants a shaved head like one of his favourite rappers.
Mum-of-one Luciana said: "It's really amazing what he's doing.

"It's just the fact he always had so much pride and looked after his hair so much.
"In the past, people have referred to him as a little girl due to the length of his hair but he never cared, it never hurt him.
"He always just said 'it's always OK to look different'.
"He's only cutting it now to raise some money for charities.
"He's just such a caring kid. I get so emotional thinking about it.
"It's really amazing. I've been sharing on Facebook, I have very generous friends and very generous neighbors as well.
"I think he wants his next haircut to be like the rapper's, 'Yungblud'.
"He doesn't quite trust me with the scissors though."
