A 16-year-old boy has tragically died while a fellow teen fights for her life in hospital after a horror crash in the Highlands.
The two teenagers were passengers in a blue Audi RS4 which was being driven west on the B817 near Fyrish at around 9.35pm on Saturday, March 27.
The vehicle then turned onto the B9176, known locally as Struie Road, where it appears to have lost control before crashing into a wall near Fyrish Substation.
Emergency services raced to the scene but the male teenager was tragically pronounced dead a short time later.
A 15-year-old girl, who was a rear seat passenger, was rushed to hospital where medics say she is in a critical condition.
The 39-year-old male driver of the motor was also hospitalised while a 22-year-old female was treated and later released.
An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the incident and the road was closed for several hours as collision investigators examined the scene.
Sergeant David Miller said: “We are appealing to any other road users who were in the area around the time of the incident to contact us, did you see blue Audi, did you pass it on the road?
“Any small piece of information could be vital in our enquiries.
“In particular, we would ask motorists with dash cams to check their footage as they could have captured an image which could assist us.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 4030 of 27 March, 2021.
