Scots boxer Charlie Flynn shares adorable snaps of new baby daughter

Boxing hero Charlie Flynn has become a father for the first time.

The 25-year-old kightweight champion broke the news on social media sending his 13,000 followers into meltdown.

Charlie, from Newarthill in Lanarkshire, shared sweet family snaps of his newborn daughter Matilda on August 9.

Charlie wrote on Twitter: Baby Matilda Flynn arrived a few weeks a go.

"Apologies for being so quiet lately.

"Things have been a little crazy.

"Love you tonnes Matilda.

"God bless."

Charlie and his wife Amber look besotted in the stunning photos with Matilda, who is has a mop of thick dark hair and adorable brown eyes.

Charlie announced his engagement to Amber Farquhar in January 2018 after popping the question on Hogmanay.

The lovebirds got hitched in October the same year.

Now little Matilda completes the young family.

Many of Charlie's loyal fans took to social media to congratulate the Commonwealth Games champ.

Jimmy Mackie wrote: "Congratulations Mr and Mrs Flynn.

"Baby Matilda is gorgeous."

Audrey Farley added: "Congratulations, enjoy this new chapter as a family.

"Treasure your time with Matilda."

Tracey Johnson commented: "Aww, congratulations!

"Such a gorgeous wee girl with a beautiful name.

"Wishing you and your family all the happiness in the world."

Charlie took home gold in front of a home crowd at the 2014 Commonwealth Games during the men's lightweight division.

That same year, the Sunday Mail awarded the champ with the Editor's Award at the Sunday Mail Scottish Sports Awards.

During the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow Charlie, a former postman,  was quoted as saying, 'the Mailman delivers'.

His nickname has been The Mailman ever since.

One fan, Ross McDowall, joked on social media asking Charlie if he 'delivered the baby himself'.
