Scots beer garden evacuated and one man hospitalised after 'gas detected'

A man was hospitalised with injuries after a Dundee beer garden was evacuated and a low level of gas detected.

Police raced to Caird Hall this afternoon after the alarm was raised at around 4.19pm.

The area was evacuated as officers probed the scene and taped off the area.

They then discovered a low level of gas was detected.

A man was rushed to Ninewells Hospital after becoming injured during the incident.

Police Scotland said: “Emergency services were called to the Caird Hall in Dundee at around 4.19pm this afternoon following the activation of safety alarm.

"One man received a slight injury and a very low level of gas was detected.

"The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital as a precaution and there was no wider risk to the public at any point.
