Scots Avengers star Karen Gillan gives away movie plot in awkward interview

Karen Gillan made the ultimate film star faux pas during an interview.

The Scot, who plays Nebula in the new film Avengers: Endgame, was being interviewed at a press conference in California when she gave away a bit too much of the plot of Marvel’s forthcoming movie.

The Inverness-born actress was speaking alongside co-stars Chris Evans, who plays Captain America. and Iron Man Robert Downey Jr, and put her spoiler gaffe down to nerves.

Speaking about her character in the 22nd film in the Hollywood franchise, Karen said: “It’s maybe safe to say she suffers from some daddy issues because her dad is Thanos, so who wouldn’t?”

Leaving Neverland director tells critics to 'add up hours Jackson slept with people's sons'

The 31-year-old then got a little carried away, adding: “I’m excited for her to face the source of this abuse.

“She’s talked about how she wants to inflict revenge, so we all know about that. I’d like to see her try to face that.”

She then caught on that she had maybe revealed more than she should.

“I don’t know if she will. Maybe she won’t. I just got really nervous I gave something away, so I’m going to stop.”

Karen, a former Sunday Mail Young Scot Award winner, first played the role of Nebula in the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s 2017 sequel and again in last year’s release Avengers: Infinity War.

Endgame is the final chapter of the third phase of Marvel Cinematic Universe and will hit the big screen on April 25.
