Scots asked to 'light a candle for Kilmarnock' after tragic deaths of mum and daughter

Scots are being asked to ‘light a candle for Kilmarnock’ in memory of a tragic NHS worker who was killed just 20 minutes before her daughter.

A social media campaign has been launched asking people around the country to take part in the vigil from 7.45pm tonight.

A post read: “Tonight people are being asked to light a candle from around 7.45pm in remembrance of Nicole Anderson, 24, and Emma Robertson Coupland, 39, who both tragically died during the serious incident which took place in Kilmarnock last night.”

Mum-of-four Emma died after being ‘stabbed’ in a car park at Crosshouse Hospital on Thursday night.

The vile attacker, ex-husband Steven Robertson, fled the scene and moved to the nearby Portland Street where he violently attacked the 39-year-old’s daughter.

Nicole Anderson, 24, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.

The knifeman, 40, died after crashing his car into a tree on the C50, a road between the B7036 and the A76, at around 8.30pm.

A police probe into the tragic slayings remain ongoing however officers have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection.
