Scots artist creates incredible 3D design of Glasgow Subway-themed pub during lockdown

A Scots artist has designed a 3D render of his dream pub based off the history of Glasgow ’s famous Subway transport system.

Steven Bracki, who lives in the west end of the city, came up with the idea for The Inner Circle a couple of years ago, but only just got around to developing his vision during lockdown.

In the absence of a real pub, the 25-year-old spent six weeks building the concept bar from scratch while he was on furlough from his media production job.

The incredibly detailed pub contains nods to the history and the branding of the Subway - including the station steps, seat design and Inner Circle bar runner.

A Subway carriage looks over paying punters in the bar area below to form a unique mezzanine that contains additional seating.

The front cockpit is even a DJ booth that peers onto the dancefloor.

His ideal location for the pub would be somewhere underground and hidden away from plain slight, similar to that of a speakeasy.

Speaking to the Record, Steven said: “I had the idea for ' The Inner Circle ' a couple of years ago when I was trying to come up with some projects I could work on in my own time.

“I started to think of a few main aspects I could use from the Subway to shape the bar and how it could look overall as a space.

"Things like the Subway seating being used to inspire the booth seating, the Subway map being used as a design for the bar itself and using the tracks as a see-through dance floor with people being able to step down onto them.

“After I had the idea, I didn't actually work on it for around two years because I knew it would take a lot of work to visualise and I'm not an interior designer either.

"However, after recently going on furlough I had the perfect opportunity to give it a go and see if I could complete it.

“Overall, it took six weeks from start to finish, from gathering inspiration and designing the space right through to producing final rendered images.

"I had a great time working on this and always find it fun being able to visualise things that are a bit different.”

Steven currently works for Soluis - a media production company that creates visual content such as images, films, augmented reality apps, virtual reality apps and more.
