Glasgow man has car stolen after jumping out to get cash from ATM

A Scot had his car stolen by a callous criminal while he jumped out to get cash from a bank machine.

The man quickly popped out of his SEAT Leon at the One O One store in Springburn when the thief capitalised and nicked his motor.

The Glasgow man also lost his laptop and mobile phone which were in the vehicle at the time of the theft.

With no access to his account, his partner headed to social media to launch an appeal for assistance in finding the car.

They said: "Tonight my partner was at the One O One in Springburn at the cash machine and a man stole his car with his phone and laptop in it."

The car registration is SB18 CCA and the car is a navy blue SEAT Leon, 2018 plate.

The partner added: "It's been reported to police. Please can everyone share this and if anyone sees the car report it to the police."

The victim said: "The phone was in the car and we managed to track it using my Apple Watch to out between Muirhead, Chryston and Kirkintilloch area where it had been dumped in the middle of a field.

"If you are from around that areas and out and about please keep your eyes peeled as there was only 20 miles left in the tank so couldn’t have got much further with that."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.25pm on Thursday, 14 January, 2021, we received a report of a car being stolen from outside a shop on Broomknowes Road, Glasgow.

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the vehicle.”
