Scots Amazon office evacuated as bomb squad tackle 'suspicious package'

A Scots Amazon office was evacuated as bomb disposal team moved in to deal with a 'suspicious package'.

Police taped off the Dunfermline depot having been called to reports of the package at around 3.25pm on Sunday September 27

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit then moved in and 'made it safe'.

The building has now been reopened and is no longer high risk to the public.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.25pm on Sunday, 27 September, 2020, police received a report of a suspicious package found within the Amazon depot in Dunfermline.

“Emergency services attended, the building was evacuated and a cordon put in place.

"EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) attended and the package was made safe.

“The building was reopened and there is no wider risk to the public.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”
