Scots actors wanted for new Lord of the Rings TV series

A production company is seeking ‘hairy’ Scots to audition for roles in the new Lord of the Rings TV series.

BGT Actors Models and Talent took to Facebook to put out a call for a range of people to participate in the new series set to be released on Amazon Prime, reports Edinburgh Live .

The series, which is set to begin production next year, will be based on JRR Tolkien’s famous series of fantasy novels.

Online giant Amazon won the rights to produce at least five seasons of the series which will be set in the fictional Middle Earth.

To meet the criteria for roles available for the show, the production company is looking for:

  • Short people under 5ft and tall people over 6ft 5
  • Character faces with lots of wrinkles
  • Androgynous men and women
  • 'Hairy, hairy' people of all ages and ethnicities
  • Tall, long and lithe dancers
  • Circus performers who can juggle and stilt walk
  • Stocky mean-looking bikers
  • Eurasian people of all ages
  • Red heads of all ages, shapes and sizes

The filming for the TV series is taking place in New Zealand but apparently their need for extras is currently 'urgent' so it's worth chancing your luck.
