Scots actor Paul Brannigan accused of stabbing brother in Parkhead on New Year's Day

A Scots actor is accused of repeatedly stabbing his brother with a knife to the danger of his life.

Paul Brannigan, 34, allegedly assaulted sibling David Brannigan on New Year’s Day.

The Angels’ Share star is said to have struck his brother  on the head and body with the blade at a property in Parkhead, in Glasgow's east end.

Prosecutors state the alleged attack was to David Brannigan’s severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger of his life.

The actor, who also appeared in River City and Sunshine on Leith, is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Brannigan is claimed to have shouted and sworn and thrown objects as well as damage furniture at the house on Stamford Gate.

The charge goes on to say Brannigan also brandished a knife and pursued his brother and Margaret Devlin.

Brannigan faces a final charge of possessing cocaine at the property where he lives.

Brannigan made no plea at a hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court as his lawyer failed to appear.

A further hearing was set for November by Sheriff Andrew Cubie.

Brannigan had his bail continued meantime.
