Scotrail worker spat at in Glasgow Central Station as police release CCTV images

Police have released a CCTV images of a man after a Scotrail worker was spat at in Glasgow Central Sation.

Last November, the member of staff was assaulted after he challenged a man for attempting to travel on a children's ticket. Following the incident the man involved ran out of the station.

British Transport Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A BTP statement published today confirms: "Officers investigating an assault at Glasgow Central railway station, Scotland, are today releasing CCTV images in connection.

"At 1.30pm on Saturday 14 November 2020, a man was challenged at the station’s ticket barriers by a member of rail staff for attempting to travel on a child’s ticket.

"The man was refused travel for having an invalid ticket before he spat in the face of the member of rail staff and ran out of the station.

"Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.

"If you recognise him, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2000085354.

"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
