Scotrail warn TRNSMT passengers to clear up as rubbish litters trains

Scotrail have tweeted to ask passengers to bring litter and alcohol bottles with them after using their trains to travel to TRNSMT.

The music festival, which has replaced T in the Park, kicks off in Glasgow Green today with people travelling from across Scotland to see Stormzy,  Catfish and the Bottlemen and George Ezra.

However, the train operator recently tweeted out a picture of bags of rubbish on their trains as well as bottles of vodka, asking passengers to take litter with them.

Though the festival takes place across the weekend, a bank holiday on Monday means families will also be using trains to head off for a few days away.

To cope with extra demand, Scotrail have also added extra carriages to key services in order to accommodate everyone on time.

ScotRail Head of Customer Operations Phil Campbell said: “With a fantastic line-up of artists, TRNSMT is shaping up to be an exciting event, and we’re pleased to be part of it.

“To help the festival run smoothly, we’re providing extra seats to and from the Strathclyde area, but trains are expected to be extremely busy.

“Make sure to check your train times on our website or app, and leave plenty of time for travel. Buying tickets in advance will also help reduce your need to queue.”
