A video shared by Scotrail online has transported bored Scots at home into the seat of a train driver crossing one of Scotland's most iconic landmarks.

The video shows the view their drivers have as they drive a Scotrail train over the Forth Bridge - with fortunately sunny weather when the footage was taken.

The footage has raked in the likes and retweets since being posted on Twitter yesterday, with over 5k people liking the video and another 1.7k sharing it for others to enjoy, with flocks of comments coming in from appreciative viewers.

Scotrail attached a camera to the windscreen on the opposite side from the driver to capture the impressive shots on the trip over the bridge.

One Twitter user wrote: "When I was wee I totally thought the train went over the top, like a roller coaster. I’m still gutted that it doesn’t."
