PASSENGERS travelling from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Inverness have been warned of delays after a passenger fell ill on a train in Perth and Kinross.
ScotRail has advised customers travelling between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street to the Highland city that services are facing delays due to the incident.
The passenger who fell ill has been taken into the care of paramedics, according to the train operator.
The Glasgow Queen Street to Inverness has since continued its journey, but is 87 minutes late.
A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “Due to a passenger taken ill on a train at Dunkeld, our Edinburgh/Glasgow Queen St to Inverness services are subject to delay.”
In an update on its website, ScotRail said: “Currently, we have not arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on local bus routes as yet. We will monitor this situation as the incident develops.
“Due to a passenger taken ill on a train at Dunkeld earlier, services are returning to run as scheduled, but remain subject to delay.”
It added: “The passenger has been taken off the train into the care of the paramedics and our 12:07 from Queen St to Inverness is on the move 87 minutes late.”
