ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Dundee cancelled after train hits cow on line

Rail services between Edinburgh and Dundee have been cancelled this morning after a cow was hit by a train on the line.

ScotRail services are expected to be delayed until around 11am after the incident near Leuchers at around 9.40am.

It's believed that LNER and Cross Country journeys will also be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Network Rail is advising people to check before they think about travelling in the area.

A ScotRail tweet said: "A train has struck a cow near #Leuchars, services are unable to run in either direction through the area."
