ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Dunblane suspended after person hit by train

ScotRail trains between Edinburgh and Dunblane were suspended on Sunday morning after a person was hit by a train.

The rail operator reported news of the tragic incident shorty before 10am, with emergency services in attendance on the line between Stirling and Croy. The stretch of railway was closed as a result.

All services between Dunblane and Edinburgh were suspended, although First Bus said they were accepting valid rail tickets and Smartcards on the route.

Services between Glasgow and Stirling, Alloa, Perth, Dundee, Inverness and Aberdeen have also been affected.

ScotRail said disruption to their services was expected to last until around 12pm, but further information will be available on their website .

The line between Stirling and Croy has now reopened although it will likely take some time before services return to normal, according to the rail operator.
