ScotRail services between Ayrshire and Glasgow hit by delays and cancellations after signal fault

Signalling problems are causing major disruption on trains between Ayrshire and Glasgow Central this morning.

ScotRail said a fault on the line between Lochwinning and Kilwinning was to blame for early morning delays and cancellations.

The line has now reopened following discovery of the fault, but services between Ayrshire and the city remain affected.

Trains are likely to be delayed while the service returns to normal and travellers are advised to plan ahead.

Lines between Glasgow and Ayr, Ardrossan and Largs are all affected.
