ScotRail’s new timetable starts on Sunday 19 May and the train operator is asking customers to take a minute to check their journey for any changes.
As part of the change, extra carriages will be added to the 1716 Edinburgh – North Berwick peak service in order to add additional seats to the journey.
As well as this, Scotrail have said that there will be changes to direct services between North Berwick, Glasgow Central and Ayr. This means customers travelling between North Berwick and Haymarket may need to change trains at Edinburgh - the new timetable can be viewed here .
The timetable improvements across Scotrail is expected to add thousands of extra seats for customers, with more new trains meaning there will be 115,000 more seats every day since 2015.
ScotRail Operations Director David Simpson said:
“Sunday will see the introduction of timetable changes that will deliver even more improvements on Scotland’s Railway, with the investment in new trains and infrastructure providing faster journeys, more seats and more services for our customers.
Further timetable improvements will be delivered in December 2019.
