Ever wondered whether you’d be quicker getting from Edinburgh to Glasgow using ScotRail’s Waverley to Queen Street service or a Lamborghini? Of course you have.
Well the age old question has finally been answered after ScotRrail decided to test one of it's trains against a high powered sports car. As you do.
Its Class385 train went up against the supercar with both vehicles setting off from the capital around 9am this morning in the #42minutechallenge, with updates being provided by Clyde 1.
The challenge was based on the rail company’s promise that journeys between the two cities would take 42 minutes.
“Today's the day we put one of our #Class385 trains to the test alongside a @Lamborghini in the #42MinuteChallenge,” they tweeted.
"Tune in to @1025Clyde1 from 0830 and watch our feed to get all live info!
“The #42minutechallenge wouldn't be possible without that hard work that's been done over the last few years as part of the Edinburgh to Glasgow Improvement Programme".
The improvement programme is about more than just journey times however, and also includes improvements to stations, a new depots and increased capacity.
But who won? It seems the Lambo was no match for the train, which came out on top, getting Clyde presenter Amber Livngstone to Queen Street Station from Waverley ahead of colleague Callum Gallacher, who was behind the wheel.
