ScotRail plead with parents after primary school children spotted on railway tracks

ScotRail has issued a plea to parents after two primary school children were spotted walking on the railway tracks in Fife.

The rail operator wants adults to talk to the young ones about the dangers of trespassing on the line.

Their plea was issued earlier this week after the youngsters were seen walking on train tracks on Tuesday afternoon.

They say that "both are safe" but the outcome could have been far worse.

ScotRail tweeted: "Parents: please, please talk to your children about the dangers of trespassing on the railway.

"Earlier this afternoon [Tuesday], two primary school-age children were spotted on the tracks in Fife.

"Both are safe, but the outcome could have been far worse."
