Scotrail passenger threatens to 'punch the head clean aff' every employee

ScotRail employees have been threatened by a furious passenger who said they'd "punch the head clean aff" staff.

The rail firm took to social media this morning to highlight they are "here to help" instead of be abused and be threatened by people online.

After posting a screenshot of the anonymous message ScotRail said they had informed British Transport Police (BTP).

The tweet, which was posted this morning, has been retweeted more than 800 times while it has been liked 3,400 times.

Many people took to the social media platform to back the employees following the online threat.

Jennifer MacTavish said: "It’s not acceptable but unfortunately it’s the fat cats at the top who are sheltered from this abuse and in the main #scotrail staff are lovely - so it’s not nice to receive a message like that."

Twitter account @Train_PlaneHub wrote: " Trains get delayed & cancelled. So do buses. So do planes. Everywhere, every company. If you drive there’s a chance the road will be closed and you’ll be stuck in traffic. Sh*t happens! That’s life.

"There is literally NO excuse for that towards anyone in their workplace EVER ."

Simon Varwell said: "Good grief. Hopefully the police are a help!"

ScotRail replied: "Thanks, we've passed screenshots to @BTP."
