Scotrail: number of trains cancelled due to overhead wire damage and staff shortages

A number of trains have been cancelled in Glasgow this morning due to a combination of staff shortages and damage to overhead wires.

Scotrail has warned passengers to expect cancellations at both Central Station and Glasgow Queen Street Station after new damage occurred to the overhead electric wires at Charing Cross yesterday.

A statement from Scotrail reads: "Due to yesterday's disruption, many of our trains are out of place. As a result, we expect a number of services via Glasgow Central Low Level & Queen St Low Level to be cancelled this morning."

Meanwhile, several services between Glasgow and Edinburgh have also been cancelled throughout rush hour due to a shortage of train crews. These included the 6.40am, 8.17am 9am and 9.56am trains.

For further updates on all services, visit Journey Check or follow Scotrail across all social media channels.
