A FAULT is affecting services between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh.
At around 12.30pm on Tuesday, a signalling fault in Kirknewton was reported and trains leaving Glasgow Central Station toward Edinburgh were cancelled.
The travel operator said that Network Rail staff are on site and investigating the fault.
On social media, they said: "We have received reports of a signal fault at Kirknewton. This is affecting services between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh.
"Network Rail Scotland staff are on site investigating the fault. As soon as we have more information, we will let you know."
In the latest update from ScotRail they have confirmed that the issue is ongoing.

They said that Network Rail staff are still on-site and working to solve the problem.
A further fault was reported between Lanark and Carluke.. which was causing disruption to services between Glasgow Central and Lanark.
ScotRail said it has arranged rail tickets to be accepted on local buses:
- 41: Motherwell - Shieldmuir - Wishaw - Carluke - Lanark
