Scotland weather forecast today with 19C expected for fans flocking to beer gardens ahead of Euro 2020 game

Scotland will be treated to sun and blue skies today as fans flock to beer gardens and fan zones to watch the Euro 2020 game.

Temperatures will soar to 19C in some parts of the country today, while sunshine will attempt to break through clouds just in time for the Scotland vs England kick off.

It's good news fans for fans watching the Euro 2020 showdown outside this evening, with conditions to remain 'dry and pleasant' when the whistle blows at 8pm.

However, Tartan Army fans who have travelled to London to watch the game will have to contend with thunderstorms and torrential rain forecast on Friday.

The Met Office even issued a yellow weather warning, with risk of flooding and lightning strikes to hit the UK capital until Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, Scotland will steer clear of the rain for once, with "some clouds bubbling through before a dry afternoon with further sunny spells," according to the Met Office.

Glasgow will see peak temperatures of 19C, Edinburgh 19C, Aberdeen 16C, Dundee 17C, Inverness 17C, Stirling 17C and Perth 17C.

Part of the country may see some scattered showers and a cool breeze, particularly along the east coast and the Highlands.

A Met Office forecast reads: "A largely sunny start but cloud will bubble up through the morning. Then a dry afternoon with further sunny spells. With light winds it will feel warm in the sunshine.

"Dry through the evening with some decent spells of late sunshine."

Scotland will face the Auld Enemy at Wembley in the first major tournament for more than two decades.

More than 20,000 members of the Tartan Army have descended on London for the Euro 2020 match.
