Scotland Under 21s set for Tynecastle return as Scot Gemmill praises Hearts ground ahead of Czech Republic clash

Hearts will play host to Scotland Under 21s when they take on the Czech Republic next month.

Scot Gemmill’s team return to Tynecastle on Friday 9 October, just three days after Robbie Neilson’s team play their first competitive match there against Inverness CT in the Betfred Cup group stages.

The European Championship qualifier will kick-off at 5.30pm and will almost certainly be behind closed doors after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon delayed fans returning to stadiums until at least 5 October.

Nevertheless, Gemmill is glad to be heading back to play in Gorgie and was full of praise for the venue and is looking to build on this week’s 1-0 win away to Lithunania.

"As a group we’re familiar with Tynecastle and it is an excellent stadium with top facilities.

"It is always an opportunity for our young players to showcase their ability at international level and we’re all looking forward to facing Czech Republic next month.

“After a pleasing performance and result in Lithuania, it is encouraging to know that more international football is just around the corner.

"We face a strong Czech side who are top of our group, but we’ll head into our remaining games full of belief.”
