Scotland top for road trips in survey

A STUDY of 2000 drivers by Euro Car Parts has found that Scotland’s epic North Coast 500 – with a rating of 31 per cent – is the most popular road trip.

And not far behind was the route between Ben Nevis and the Isle of Skye, which was given a 29 per cent ranking.

At the other end of the UK, the Atlantic Highway drive on the north coast of Devon and Cornwall came third with a 27 per cent rating.

It was followed by the Ullswater to Windermere run in the Lake District (25 per cent) and a circuit around North Yorkshire (23 per cent).

Euro Car Parts spokeswoman Helen Robinson said: “From visiting interesting and unique attractions in new parts of the country to taking in breathtaking scenery in spots like the Scottish Highlands or the Devon and Cornwall Coast, road trips truly are a great way to see the best that the UK has to offer.”
