Scotland to sizzle as weekend weather set to top 22C thanks to Spanish plume

Don't look out the winter woolies just yet as this weekend is set to see temperatures soar.

The mercury will rise in Scotland to 22C on Friday and Saturday as a Spanish plume brings warm weather our way.

The Met Office is predicting warm air will come through the UK on Friday leaving the country with some glorious sunshine and warm weather.

While down south in London will see the best of the weather at 25C, we can still expect to see highs of 21C and 22C over the weekend.

The Met Office reports: "Dry Friday and Saturday with increasingly warm or very warm sunny spells and occasionally fresh southeasterly breeze."

So it's time to get your mates round for the last summer barbecue of the season.

With Scotland's weather so temperamental you never know it could be snowing by next week! Let's enjoy it while it lasts.
