Scotland is set to be battered by heavy rain and blustery showers as several flood warning are in place across swathes of Scotland.
Forecasters say that the country will be hit by 'severe gales' - particularly across the north-east - as a band of rain pushes across from Northern Ireland.
Nine flood warnings are currently in place across Central, Tayside, Ayrshire and Arran, Dumfries and Galloway, Borders and West Central Scotland, according to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA).
It comes the Met Office yellow wind warning was issued for the Highlands and Eilean Siar from 5pm to 11pm on Tuesday evening, with gales reaching up to 75mph in the north-west.
Forecasters say the high winds are caused by a succession of low pressure systems moving in from the Atlantic.

Heavy showers will drench the country for the rest of the week as the Met Office issues a yellow weather warning for wind for most of England and Wales on Wednesday.
A Met Office forecaster said: ""A wet and windy day, with strong and gust winds with blustery winds in the north.
"Wednesdays morning, we will see some brighter skies here. showers continue across the north and the west of Scotland, drier across the border regions.
More rain arrives across Northern Ireland which pushes ever norther eastwards, so by around 12 o clock the rain will arrive in Dumfries Galloway as well as Ayrshire as showers remain in far north-west and later the north-east.
"Heavy showers band together becoming heavier on Thursday morning. More rain arrives on Friday night with blustery showers."
