Scots are being warned to expect flooding around coastal areas with a Met Office yellow weather warning in place.
High winds are expected to batter large parts of the country from around 8pm on Saturday, November 6, until 5pm on Sunday.
The Met Office predicts that very strong gusts will likely result in some travel disruption and dangerous coastal conditions in northern and eastern Scotland.
They say some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are expected with journeys taking longer than normal and diversions for high-sided vehicles.
High wind yellow weather warning
The areas affected by the high winds weather warning are: Angus; Dundee; Fife; Perth & Kinross; Aberdeen; Aberdeenshire; Moray; Na h-Eileanan Siar; Highland and the Orkney Islands.
A statement from the weather agency said: “Strengthening west to northwesterly winds will bring gusts of 60-70 mph, perhaps locally 80 mph, to exposed locations of northern and eastern Scotland.

“These winds will be initially across the Western Isles and northwest mainland Scotland on Saturday evening, spreading to Orkney and eastern Scotland overnight and Sunday morning.
“In combination with high spring tides this is expected to lead to large waves around the coasts. Winds gradually easing through Sunday afternoon.”

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has also now issued 10 flood warnings and 10 regional flood alerts due to a high tide and strong winds.

They said: “The weekend will be wet and windy. Take care near water, especially around high tides in coastal areas.
“Travelling conditions may be impacted by surface water and coastal flooding.”
