Scotland to be a wash out as Bank Holiday rain predicted over weekend

Scotland is expected to face showers and clouds over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Thousands of Scots will be left disappointed as rain will sweep in on Saturday night and again on Monday.

Friday is expected to start of with some sunny spells breaking through in Glasgow, which is good news for some.

Saturday afternoon will be dry but by the evening rain will arrive and continue through to Sunday.

It will be a mix of sunshine and heavy showers again on Monday - not the Bank Holiday weather we were hoping for.

Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Tony Wardle said: "Cloud and rain in northern Scotland on Friday and further rain arriving in Scotland and Northern Ireland later on Saturday.

“By Monday it’ll feel notably cooler as fresher air from the Atlantic spreads to all parts of the UK.  There’ll be frequent showers and some heavy, thundery bursts at times too, although it’ll be drier and brighter in the south at times, with some sunny spells."
