Scotland is set to be warmer than Lisbon as the country prepares for scorching hot temperatures tomorrow.
The Met Office is anticipating temperatures to peak at around 24C in some parts of south west Scotland - with Glasgow expected to see the best of conditions.
Forecasters expect the temperatures in Lisbon to fall short of the peak in Scotland, with the Portuguese capital set to see 23C heat around the same time.
Central and some northern areas of the country will also see the thermometer soar above 20C over the course of Tuesday afternoon.
Eastern and parts of the far north are anticipated to struggle to get to the 20C mark, with temperatures forecast to be around the mid-teens.
Scots have been urged to consider applying suncream before heading out tomorrow, as the majority of the country will see high UV levels.
And it is also expected to be another difficult day for hay fever sufferers, with the Met Office forecasting tomorrow’s pollen count to be high across the country.
A Tuesday forecast from the Met Office reads: “Mainly dry with some warm or very warm sunshine.
“However, overnight low cloud may linger around far west coasts for a time during the day.”
The news comes after an insurer warned that households may have to brace themselves for an influx of wasps due to inconsistent weather this year so far.
JG Pest Control said that the weather could lead to a surge in wasp problems between July and August.
The company reported that the inconsistencies this month led to a fall in wasp-related inquiries, suggesting that the numbers could shoot up over the next couple of months.
Residents have been urged Scots to take steps to avoid attracting them and be on their guard for any signs of infestation.
