Scotland set for Czech Republic walkover as opponents refuse to play Nations League clash

Scotland look set to be handed a 3-0 Nations League walkover as the Czech Republic announce they will not play Monday's fixture.

Following the 1-1 draw with Israel, Steve Clarke 's men were due to face their second fixture in Olomouc.

However, with two players quarantined after testing positive for coronavirus and Slavia Prague threatening to withdraw their players, the Czechs have announced they will not fulfil the fixture.

A statement said: "Although the Czech national team defeated Slovakia 3-1 on Friday, the second match in Olomouc against Scotland will not take place in September.

"The international break is over, the squad has been disbanded.

"The reason is a conflict between the assigned medical professional and the head of the Czech FA.

"There is great concern that the virus could spread further. The match with Scotland will not take place on Monday."

With the packed international calendar, the fixture being rescheduled appears unlikely.

Instead the only course of action for UEFA would appear to be awarding a 3-0 walkover in favour of Scotland.

The Czechs were leading the group after a win over rivals Slovakia, but will not fulfil their second fixture.
