Scotland's working from home guidance to change from February

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today announced the government will move away from the working from home guidance from the beginning of February.

Speaking to parliament this afternoon, Ms Sturgeon said that the Scottish Government will engage with businesses about a 'hybrid' approach to working from home and the office next month as the omicron spread slows.

She added that until then, the government will continue to ask people to "work from home whenever possible at this stage".

Hygiene measures such as the wearing of face coverings and 'baseline measures' will remain in place throughout this time.

She added: "The baseline mitigation measures that were in place before omicron - and the requirement for businesses, service providers and places of worship to take reasonable measures to minimise the spread of coronavirus on their premises - will be retained at this stage to help keep Ccvid contained as this wave recedes.

"That means face coverings must still be worn in public indoor settings and on public transport.

"Businesses and other organisations should continue to have regard to guidance, and take reasonable steps to minimise the spread of covid.

"And hospitality premises should continue to collect contact details for customers – which is important for the effective operation of Test and Protect."
