Scotland's third oldest man dies at 104 after becoming social media star during lockdown
Tributes have been paid to Scotland's third oldest man after he sadly passed away at the age of 104.
Retired police officer Percy Man became a social media sensation in 2020 after footage of him dancing with his Zimmer went viral online.
The clips of him dancing helped to warm the hearts of many during the initial lockdowns.
Percy joined the City of Glasgow Police in 1946 and retired from the force in 1976 as a Sergeant.
A statement from the force reads: "Today Police Inspector Grant attended the funeral of Percy Mann who was Scotland’s third oldest man (aged 104) and a retired police officer.
"He joined the City of Glasgow Police in 1946 and retired as a Sergeant from Strathclyde Police in 1976.
"During the recent lockdowns, Percy became a social media sensation, showing off his dance moves on TikTok along with his friends at Whitecraigs Care Home. He even recalled himself to duty to go back on patrol in a police car!
"Our deepest condolences go to Percy’s family of 11 children, 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and his great-great grandchild."
