Scotland's most popular wedding venues by search and Instagram tags named

Couples across Scotland have had more time than usual to plan their dream wedding over the past few years meaning days, weeks or even months of searching for the perfect venue. From opulent castles and stately homes to chic barn conversions and modern spots, there are thousands of beautiful venues that are perfect for any couple, no matter their aesthetic or budget.

With that in mind, the suit experts at Slater Menswear have analysed the top 300 most talked-about wedding venues in the UK and then ranked them by their number of Instagram hashtags to try to find the best wedding venues in each location.

And for Scotland, Aswanley in Aberdeenshire was named the most sought-after wedding location, due to its impressive reviews and high number of Instagram hashtags. Not only that, but it also rated highly in terms of search, placing in third behind two other Scottish locations in that category.

The three most popular wedding venues based on google searches were

  • Carlowrie Castle 4200 google searches - Edinburgh
  • Melville Castle 3400 google searches - Edinburgh
  • Aswanley 700 google searches - Aberdeen

Speaking about Aswanley, the Slaters team wrote: "A blank canvas Victorian barn in Aberdeenshire on the edge of the Grampian Highlands, Aswanley is a wonderful wedding venue.

"With its grand fireplace at the centre of the barn, you’ll also find a series of interconnecting rooms that you can use, too — with space for up to 250 guests.

"When you hire, this also includes the help of an in-house wedding coordinator that offers advice throughout your wedding planning and is also there on the day to ensure there are no bumps in the road."
