Scotland's first porcupette, or tiny baby porcupine, has been born at Edinburgh Zoo.
Fiddich was born to parents Zahara and Rick - the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s (RZSS) announced.
He was given the name by the wildlife charity's patrons and zookeepers say he has recently been getting bolder as he matures.
The one-month old is also thought to be spending more time outside with his parents.

Cape porcupines are native to central and southern Africa where they are fairly common.
They can be found in a range of environments including woodlands, grasslands, deserts and rocky hills.
Porcupines’ distinctive quills are covered in hard keratin, the same material that rhino horns and human fingernails are made of.

Set on 82 acres of land, Edinburgh Zoo is home to almost 1,000 rare and endangered animals.
