Scotland's first Rage Room is opening in Glasgow this summer - and you can trash the place

Scotland's first 'Rage Room' will be launching in Glasgow this summer... and they're inviting you to trash the place.

The Escape Rooms in Anderston – who also brought urban axe hurling to the city – will be opening a safe place where people can smash up a variety of objects to pieces and blow off steam with their pals.

Adrenaline junkies will be tooled up with weapons such as baseball bats, sledgehammers and crowbars... Then you'll get to choose your own playlist while you wreck the hoose. (FYI if you don't choose Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit, you're doing something wrong.)

Director David Torrance told Glasgow Live: "So many people have built up rage in their days and they don't release it. It just builds up - a lot of people will be dying to do this!"

Throwing a bunch of stress-filled thrill-seekers into one room to destroy everything in their path: What could possibly go wrong, right?

Well obviously, this ain't the Escape Room's first rodeo: Bosses are currently drafting up the necessary insurance policies and insist customers will be completely kitted out with boiler suits, masks, gloves and body armour.

Groups will also be limited to six people and members will be instructed to remain behind a safety line while one or two people armed with weapons go tonto on crates of plates, computers, TVs and other bric-a-brac.

Packages are to be priced at £50, £70 and £90 – depending on how much stuff you want to ruin.

David jokes that the clean-up job will be a "nightmare" and said they're planning to install roll-up flooring to carefully dispose of the debris after each session.

But he reckons the new wrecking room will be all the rage in our city after axe-throwing exploded onto the scene this spring.

David added: "We didn't even advertise for the axe hurling but it has shot up from no.60 to no.1 in its category on Trip Advisor. People are just hearing about it through word of mouth – and we've not had a bad word so far!

"We think the people who love that will love this – it's huge in the US and Canada.

"We want to work with our customers – so we'll be expecting feedback from the first hundred people so we're making it as enjoyable as possible. We can't wait to bring the first one to Scotland!"
