Stephen O'Donnell says Scotland have the potential to "achieve greatness" at the Euros this summer, and just wants to make sure he's part of it.
The Motherwell right-back is with the squad in Scotland's training camp at La Finca in Spain, with friendly matches against the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and hopes to do enough to cement his place in the team for what could be an historic tournament, for many reasons.
Scotland haven't qualified for the European Championships since 1996, and have never got beyond the group stages, but O'Donnell wants to make sure they do enough against the Czech Republic, England and Croatia to change that.
He said: "We lost three important players [in Kenny McLean, Ryan Jack and Oli McBurnie] and brought in three very good, young talented player [in David Turnbull, Billy Gilmour and Nathan Patterson] that are here to have an impression, and I think we have enough quality throughout the squad to achieve greatness, in regards to qualifying.
"I think we can do that.
"You've got three teams who are going to be trying to do the same, all three with different added pressures. All three of them are relatively regular in major tournaments.
"We'll go out, we'll do our best and throughout the squad we have enough talent and ability to cause any team problems, and if we do our job at the back then we'll get opportunities."
O'Donnell added: "We want to go and perform well, we don't want to- just be a flash in the pan. We want to try and make this a consistent for Scotland.
We've been in the wilderness for too long and we want to make sure that we do well in the tournament.

"Worst-case is some good performances, but we want to try and get three points at least, that will hopefully ensure we're in the next round, which will hopefully create a wee bit of history.
"But beyond that we want to go again for the World Cup and push to try and qualify.
"As I said, I don't want to be the flash in the pan, it's has been too long for Scotland, as a football nation, in the wilderness.
"We want to try and continue this success, to hopefully at least allow 50,000 in at Hampden to see us in a major tournament would be nice.
"You've got plenty of players throughout the squad who have big tournament experience, nobody with this experience, but with that comes a freshness and a bit of excitement.
"Hopefully that can be put into energy on the pitch, to show a real desire and hunger, to put in performances that get us results.
"I'm enjoying every minute of it, I think the squad seems to be as well, so there are no complaints at this end and hopefully nothing's too overwhelming that will see an impact on our performances."

O'Donnell could be up against Rangers youngster Patterson, but hopes he can add to his 18 caps.
He said: "To be getting the number two is a very proud moment for such a momentous occasion, but it doesn't really matter come the first game.
"You want to make sure you're starting, and if I was able to cement my place over this 10-day camp and the two games, whether that's playing 45 - I don't know how the manager is going to play it, if he's wanting to rotate, see different things - I just hope that my performances in previous games and in this camp I can do enough to keep my place.
"I've said time and time again I've never been so proud as putting on the Scotland top, it has been the highlight of career time and time again since I've been getting called up, and that won't change. I just hope I can maintain it as long as possible."
