Scotland's coronavirus pandemic: No new deaths reported for the first time since March

Scotland has reported zero new coronavirus deaths across the country for the first time since March 20, which was three days before the country was put into lockdown.

For the first time, Scotland's death toll remained unchanged, staying at 2415 over the last 24 hours - although it is important to note that the weekend's statistics can be "artificially low."

Jeane Freeman, Scotland's Health Secretary announced the news at the Daily Coronavirus briefing.

Despite the positive figures, Jeanne Freeman urged Scots not to get complacent, saying it was very "likely" that more deaths would be announced in the coming days.

The number of confirmed cases in Scotland are still continuing to increase, with a further 18 bringing the total to 15,621.

Coronavirus continues to put pressure on the NHS as 1002 Scots are currently being treated in hospital with the virus.
