Scotland's biggest lottery winner welcomes 'shock' lockdown baby aged 48

Scottish lotto millionaire Gillian Bayford, 48, has given birth to a baby in lockdown.

Gillian won the EuroMillions Jackpot her ex-husband Adrian in 2012, with the pair scooping up a massive £148 million.

The mum, who welcomed new baby Emilie six months ago, revealed that it was a 'shock' to find out she was pregnant at the age of 48, but that she was thrilled to become a parent again.

The mother-of-three from Dundee told the Scottish Sun: “It was a bit of a shock at first. Because I’m older, people said to me ‘are you mad?’.

“But I’d always wanted another baby. So after a little bit I thought ‘I better get on with this then’. It’s really enjoyable being an older mum. It is like riding a bike, you don’t forget.”

The millionaire re married dad-of-one Brian Deans with the couple having their first baby together in October last year, during the Covid lockdown.

Gillian, who already has two teenage children said she doesn't think her child will be spoiled just because she is a millionaire.

She added: “Some things are easier because of the money but it doesn’t really change anything. You still have to change a nappy or deal with her being sick on you regardless of how much you’re worth.”

"Life is good. I’m not getting a nanny or anyone like that. I’ll be doing it all myself.”

The former hospital cleaner, who has now started a property firm in Dundee, said that it was "really enjoyable" being an older mum.
