Scotland's biggest Home Bargains store opens its doors - complete with garden centre

Scotlands biggest Home Bargains store opened its doors this week - complete with a garden centre and a giant alcohol section.

The new store opened its doors in Irvine's Riverway Retail Park - just four doors down from its previous home, but three times the size.

The store is now the biggest in the country and boasts 1,184 bays for bargain hunters to scour.

The 32,000 sq.ft. store opened on Monday in the former site of Homebase and has already welcomed hundreds of shoppers through its doors.

Paul Downie, store manager of Home Bargains, Irvine, said: “I’m very excited to be part of opening this large store in Irvine, and it’s clear the customers are already very excited too.

"The staff and the development team have been outstanding they have gone above and beyond to get us to where we are – it has been a real privilege to watch the new team bond and deliver a great looking store.”
