Scotland's beer gardens to reopen on July 6 with indoor restaurants on July 15

Nicola Sturgeon has announced that beer gardens in Scotland can reopen from 6 July as well as outdoor dining areas.

Following on from this, indoor hospitality will be able to resume from 15 July, which is same date we can meet one other household indoors.

The First Minister has advised that hospitality businesses should prepare to have to take people’s details for bookings in this next phase.

These dates are part of the early stages of phase three, which will begin from 9 July. The FM warned that phase three will not happen all at once and that the government will be taking a phased approach - much like phase two.

However, the dates revealed today are only guidance for now. They depend upon the number of infections continuing to decline - the First Minister will offer updates ahead of each date.

The next lockdown review is due in three weeks - on 9 July.
