The postcodes in Scotland with the highest number of sex offenders have been revealed, according to the latest figures.
Police Scotland publish data regarding the number of Registered Sex Offenders on a monthly basis, broken down by policing division and postcode area.
The information, which is available to everyone, is released in a bid to remain open and transparent.
As of October 31, there were 4475 Registered Sex Offenders in Scotland, 1561 of which are in custody or hospital.
Despite it being impossible to eliminate risk entirely, the register allows police to take reasonable steps to protect communities.
Police Scotland have measures in place to help minimise the likelihood of further sexual re-offending by Registered Sex Offenders (RSOs).
In Scotland, sexual re-offending rates remain extremely low.
A Registered Sex Offender is defined as a person convicted of a relevant sexual offence who automatically becomes subject to the Notification Requirements of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
