Speaking in Edinburgh, the First Minister said only five new cases of the virus had been confirmed in the last 24 hours, down three on the number announced on Sunday.
The daily deaths reported by Nicola Sturgeon only include those where the person has died following a positive test for the virus.

Reminding people that the number of deaths recorded at the weekend can be artificially low, Sturgeon said: “There is no doubt that these recent figures demonstrate beyond any doubt how much progress Scotland has made in terms tackling Covid.”
The National Records of Scotland provide a weekly update each Wednesday which includes deaths where the virus is suspected.
Including the five extra cases of the virus confirmed in the previous 24 hours, the total number of cases identified in Scotland now stands at 18,241.
740 patients were said to be receiving treatment in hospitals with confirmed or suspected coronavirus, down 38 in 24 hours.
Of these, only 10 were intensive care. This is a reduction in three on the number reported on Sunday by the Scottish Government.
