Scotland player ratings as Kieran Tierney the standout in Euro 2020 warm up win over Luxembourg

Che Adams was the Scotland goal hero as he fired Steve Clarke’s men to victory in their final Euro 2020 warm-up fixture against Luxembourg.

It was the last chance for the players to shine ahead of the massive Group D opener against Czech Republic at Hampden on June 14 - and here’s how the players rated in the Josy Barthel Stadium.

David Marshall

The play-off hero produced a brilliant save early on that could have given us a problem if it sneaked in. Safe hands whenever needed. 6

Declan Gallagher

Comfortable return to the side. Had to look lively a couple of times early on but strolled it after the red and eventually replaced at the break. 6

Grant Hanley

Understandably a bit rusty at times after a month off. Needed to be strong in the air at a couple of corners but mostly solid throughout. 6

Kieran Tierney

Arsenal man turned 24 on Saturday and has matured in to one of Scotland’s key men. So comfortable in this attacking centre back role and spent most of the game camped in Luxembourg half. 8

Stephen O’Donnell

Not as busy on his flank as it was on the left but was disciplined when he had to be and nudged up the park whenever he got the chance. A straightforward run out. 6

John McGinn

(SNS Group)

Made a crucial intervention in his own box in the first half but it was a pretty quiet game for the Aston Villa man. Dug out the odd sniff on the edge of the box. 6

Scott McTominay

Got wired in even though it was a friendly. Did the dirty stuff with minimum of fuss and should have nodded in to make it two. 6

Callum McGregor

Game number 60 of the season for the Celtic midfield dynamo. Usual work rate and neat use of the ball before being given a rest for the second half. 6

Andy Robertson

Provided more deliveries than a Just Eat driver. The skipper is bringing his Liverpool game to the national team, throwing countless crosses in to the box and superbly dovetailing with Tierney. 7

Lyndon Dykes

Lyndon Dykes hits the post with a header during a friendly match between Luxembourg and Scotland (SNS Group)

Will be kicking himself he didn’t notch after hat trick of missed headers. His the post, had one disallowed for a silly handball and missed another one late on. Linked well with Adams and was real threat. 6

Che Adams

On the scoresheet again and harshly denied a second for a foul. Great ball in build up to sending off and partnership with Dykes is giving optimism. 6

Substitutes

Scott McKenna (for Gallagher 46): The only thing that was stretched was the big defender’s legs. A run out but a breeze in the second period. 5

Billy Gilmour (for McGregor 46): A really exciting cameo. Assured and direct, it was a shame he got clattered as he’s given his boss plenty to ponder. 6

Nathan Paterson (for O’Donnell 64) Keen to make an impression and never looked out of place on his debut, despite limited opposition. 5

Ryan Fraser (for Robertson 64) Found it tough to find space but teed up McTominay with a great ball in the final stages. 5

James Forrest (for Gilmour 76) More minutes on the pitch after an injury hit season and in the frame for the big games next week. 4

Kevin Nisbet (for Dykes 82) On a high after his Holland goal and caused problems late on. 4
