The Scottish Labour leader said Scotland has “paid the price” from 20 years of the SNP and urged voters to reject Reform.
Speaking a day before the polls open for the Holyrood elections, Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar is expected to say the choice is between the SNP’s re-election or a new Scottish Labour government.
He will focus on the “struggling” NHS and is expected to say many people “feel they are paying more and getting less”.
Speaking ahead to the party’s eve of poll rally, Mr Sarwar said: “We have all seen the mess John Swinney and the SNP have made over those 20 years.
“Our NHS is struggling, family budgets are under pressure and too many people feel they are paying more and getting less.
“The SNP has had 20 years and Scotland has paid the price – give me five, and together we can build a better future.”
Mr Sarwar added that voters have seen the damage of 20 years of SNP government in an NHS under pressure, family budgets stretched to breaking point, young people denied opportunities and communities left behind.
He also urged voters to reject the “poison of Reform” as the party said Reform UK has been offering smears and grievance instead of answers.

Mr Sarwar continued: “Only Scottish Labour can win in constituencies across Scotland, beat the SNP and deliver the change Scotland needs. Tomorrow, Scotland faces a simple choice:
“More of the same with John Swinney and the SNP, or change with Scottish Labour. The poison of Reform, or a better future for our country.
“I’m standing to fix the mess, get the basics right and build a better future for Scotland. So my message to voters is simple. Tomorrow, vote for change. Reject Reform. Beat the SNP. Change Scotland. Vote Scottish Labour.”
SNP campaign director Angus Robertson said: “Anas Sarwar has nothing positive to offer Scottish voters – all he wants to do is stop the SNP getting things done.
“A re-elected SNP government will support people with the soaring cost of living by introducing a price cap for essential food items in supermarkets, cut energy bills and open more GP walk-in clinics all over Scotland to help beat the 8am rush – Labour and the other parties just want to stop us.
“By backing John Swinney’s reliable and trusted leadership on Thursday, people can elect an SNP majority for a government which will support people with the cost of living, lock Nigel Farage out of power in Scotland, and deliver the fresh start of independence.”
Reform UK has been approached for comment.
