Scotland lockdown survey: When will it end and what should re-open first?

Mainland Scotland has been in lockdown for over a month now after emergency coronavirus measures were announced at the beginning of 2021.

Scots were ordered to stay at home from January 4 amid a fresh lockdown to tackle the rising covid cases across the country, making it illegal to leave your home except for essential reasons.

Schools have also been closed in Scotland, with a phased return for younger pupils to start on February 22.

Nicola Sturgeon is set to update parliament about the potential gradual easing of lockdown on February 16, but it is understood the current restrictions will be in place until at least the end of the month.

It appears the strict stay at home order has begun to cause cases and positivity rate to drop and many Scots are wondering when the restrictions are likely to change - and what the next few months will look like.

So, we want to know what you think about the current lockdown and when it should be lifted.

Should lockdown be in place until all high risk groups are vaccinated? Or is it too early to even discuss restrictions being eased?

Do you think schools opening should be prioritised over pubs, restaurants and shops opening? How important is seeing friends and family over getting back to the gym?

Speaking about the restrictions in January, the First Minister said: "...Cabinet has reached the conclusion that the lockdown restrictions must stay in place until at least the end of February."

And on the possibility of lockdown easing she said: "However, if our progress continues, then I am cautiously - and I stress cautiously - optimistic that, as more and more people get vaccinated, and with the protection of some of the additional measures that I will cover shortly, we may be able to begin looking towards a careful and gradual easing around the start of March."
