Scotland lockdown review: Nicola Sturgeon's latest update today and what it could mean for you

Nicola Sturgeon could roll back on some of the plans to reopen live music events, soft play centres and theatres today.

She's warned that a cautionary approach will be taken when she makes her three weekly lockdown review statement to the Scottish Parliament at lunchtime.

The First Minister has already intimated that she's considering following England's lead and reducing the number of people who can meet to just six in Scotland.

And the hopes of couples desperate to up the numbers at their weddings could also be dashed if she decides it's too much of a risk to increase the current 20 allowed.

Ms Sturgeon will give the televised address to MSPs at lunchtime today.

The cautionary approach follows growing concern over the rise in positive coronavirus cases across Scotland.

More than a million people are already living with a ban on visiting other households across the Greater Glasgow health board area as the number of outbreaks continues to grow.

At her last review on August 20, Ms Sturgeon gave and indicative restart date of Monday, September 14 for many services, but only if the virus is suitably under control.

These include: soft play, certain indoor live events , theatres, music venues, indoor sports courts, stadia (limited reopening) and some outdoor live events.

She also said current restrictions on weddings and civil partnerships could be reviewed if the science supported it.
