Nicola Sturgeon will be updating the country on new lockdown restrictions to tackle the rise in coronavirus cases at today's briefing.
The First Minister confirmed yesterday that she will update the public on new rules following a COBRA meeting with all four UK nations this morning.
Yesterday she said the Scottish Government is prepared to introduce "a package of additional measures" but will aim to avoid a full-scale lockdown such as the one imposed in March.
She added "further and urgent action" must be taken to stop the spread of the virus and that "we cannot, must not and will not wait too long."
Coronavirus cases in Scotland rose by 255 yesterday, bringing the total to 24,627.
There were 73 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus, up 10 in 24 hours. Of these patients, eight are in intensive care, a fall of one.
Four chief medical officers across the UK nations have decided that the Covid-19 alert level should be raised to four.
